Foundation for a Healthier West Orange Announces Launch of Vibrant, New Nonprofit Focused on Redefining Aging

The Foundation for a Healthier West Orange has announced the upcoming launch of Vibrant, a bold new nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the well-being and vitality of maturing adults in West Orange County.

Powered by the Foundation, Vibrant empowers maturing adults ages 55+ to stay independent and socially connected while enhancing their quality of life. Through its membership-based and volunteer-driven model, Vibrant serves as a community-centered solution where neighbors help neighbors.

“We are thrilled about this latest investment in our community,” said Tracy Swanson, CEO of the Foundation for a Healthier West Orange. “At the Foundation, we are committed to building the healthiest community in the nation, and that starts with support at every stage of life.”

Vibrant builds on the national Village-to-Village movement, empowering individuals to thrive as they age in the comfort of their homes. Through this innovative model, Vibrant makes it easy for members to stay connected, active, and well-supported by providing convenient access to enriching programs, valuable resources, and assistance within their local community.

“We’re excited to welcome Vibrant to the village movement, which has grown to include more than 300 villages across the country,” said Cynthia Kemp, Board President, UPLIFT Florida Network and committee member for the national Village to Village Network. “Since the movement began in 2002, villages have proven to improve social connection and, because of their hyperlocal approach, have built social capital for maturing adults.”

Studies show that social connection may be more crucial to health and longevity than diet or exercise. With one in five people over 65 expected by 2030, staying connected is more important than ever.

Through its inaugural Vibrant Neighborhoods – Dr. Phillips and Winter Garden/Ocoee – Vibrant members will have access to social activities and everyday support, including transportation, in-home assistance, and trusted referrals within their neighborhoods.

Volunteer and membership opportunities will be available soon. To learn more, visit www.vibrantwo.org to sign up for the Vibrant newsletter.
