The June Family Branch of the Boys & Girls Club celebrated its grand opening, marking a major expansion of opportunities for children and teens in West Orange County. The new facility increases the Club’s capacity by approximately 400%, allowing it to serve more than 300 children and teens each day.

The opening also marked the next phase of the Foundation for a Healthier West Orange’s nearly decade-long partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. Our initial investment in the Club helped create the Health and Life Sciences Learning Center, and during the ribbon-cutting, we were proud to announce the next phase, which includes a 12,000-square-foot space focused on movement, connection, and wellness.

The planned Healthy West Orange Field House will include an indoor walking path in a climate-controlled environment, with technology and changing visual landscapes designed to bring the experience of the outdoors inside. The space will create opportunities for young people, families and older adults to be active, connect with one another and access opportunities that support healthier lives.

“We envision the Field House as more than a gym,” said Tracy Swanson, CEO of the Foundation for a Healthier West Orange. “By maximizing this space, we can create an intergenerational wellness destination where young people, families, and older adults can be active, connect with one another, and access opportunities that support healthier lives.”

Together, these investments reflect the Foundation’s commitment to creating opportunities for health, learning and connection at the June Family Branch and throughout the community.

“This Club represents what is possible when a community comes together around its young people,” said Jamie Merrill, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. “For years, we dreamed about creating a space in Winter Garden that could grow alongside this community and give even more children and teens access to the mentors, opportunities, and experiences they deserve. Today, that vision is a reality — and, even as we celebrate this milestone, we know there is still more to come.”
